How Can Creating Content Help You With SEO?

When you go around looking for ways to improve your search engine rankings, the one advice that you will hear repeatedly is—Create Quality Content.

As a business owner you may wonder, exactly how will content writing help? Here are some facts:

Search Engines Like Content

The basic purpose of search engines is to provide appropriate results to queries for information. The results thrown up by search engines lead to sites that as per its algorithm offer the most relevant content. To get search engines to like you, therefore, you must provide the content they are looking for!

Content Attracts Traffic

As a business owner, when you post content that’s engaging and relevant to your target market’s needs, you open up a new door for entry to your landing page.

Content Gets You Backlinks

The second and perhaps more important aspect of content creation from a complete SEO point of view is that it will help you generate valuable backlinks.

One of the factors that Google uses to judge your site’s popularity is the number of inbound links (backlinks) it has on the web. The more the number of sites that point to your business website, the more popular Google considers it to be.

How Does Content Writing For SEO Work?

The next question is, how do you get different websites to host links to your business site? Simple, give them content!

There are hundreds and thousands of Article directories and Blogs out there that will allow you to post content with a link pointing to your business website. The more authoritative these directories and blogs are, the more valuable will be the links you get through them.

One measure of a site’s authority is the page rank (PR). Google has a rather complicated formula to deduce it. However, as a business owner, all you need to know is what PR does your chosen Article Directory or Blogsite have. The lowest is 0 and the highest is 10. In my experience, site’s that have a PR between 1 and 5 offer good link juice. Of course, a PR score above 5 would be even better!

So, the next time you hear ‘create quality content’, you would hopefully know exactly why you should be doing it!
