Top 2 Viral Marketing Tips
Every website/blog owner wants to learn viral marketing techniques for their content promotion. While there’s no foolproof formula, the following tips usually help:
Write Topical Content: Write a blog or create a video about something that’s either in news or is creating a lot of buzz online. Chances are your content will get bookmarked on its own by several users.
A great way to select topical content is to create Google News Alerts for subjects in your niche area and then create content around whatever is attracting controversy, inciting debates or discussions.
To give you a personal example of how topical content works, here’s my little story.
A few days back I wrote a blog about BMR’s de-indexing and simply bookmarked it to a few sites. 2 days later the post had been picked up by a couple of other SEO websites, with a free one-way link to my site.
I checked for backlinks yesterday and found plenty of tweets and bookmarks as well. What’s even better, it climbed right to Google’s first page within two days, for several BMR related queries.
Optimize your content with a medium competition but popular long tail keywords: This is the tip that will get your content picked fast. My suggestion is to use various combinations of the keyword you want to target. For example, let’s say you are writing a blog post about online business opportunities, you must include various popular combinations of the keyword ‘online businesses’, like home based business opportunities , starting an online business, etc.
Of course, posting links to your blog on your social networks is essential. However, your viral marketing strategies will only work if the content has enough meat and offers value to your target market.
