How To Choose Your Keywords
I discussed the impact of secured search in the last blog and as promised here’s my take on the impact on keyword search reports.
It’s obvious that we will now have access to lesser amount of data for keyword research. However, the important question is how useful is the available data going to be? My belief is that it depends on the keyword tool you are using. I personally like the Adwords tool, even though the actual statistics seem to be a bit inflated.
In the current scenario too, it is perhaps the best tool to move forward with. As long as you keep in mind the fact that any keyword research tool will only show you the basic trends and don’t take the search figures as sacrosanct, your keyword research won’t be affected much. Do remember to check the ‘exact match’ box while searching though.
Also from the forums I have been tracking, the speculation is that some of the data that Google is hiding from analytics will make it to the search statistics.
